The School of Historical and Philosophical Studies Classics and Archaeology

Honours

A fourth year of study in the Classics and Archaeology discipline, as either an Honours or Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) student, is a richly rewarding experience. It provides scope to refine your analytical skills and research techniques while significantly enhancing your range of options after graduation. A fourth year of study at this level is valued by employers. It signals your ability to acquire advanced skills of analysis, to develop original ideas, and to apply innovative solutions to complex problems.

The Classics and Archaeology Discipline offers two specialisations of Honours/PGDip study:

Ancient World Studies is the title of the specialisation in the New Generation Honours BH-ARTS course, which is available to students who have completed a new generation Bachelor of Arts (BA) at The University of Melbourne, or an equivalent Arts degree from another University.

Classical Studies and Archaeology is the title of this same specialisation, but for students who have completed the heritage Bachelor of Arts at Uni Melbourne, or who are enrolled in the Postgraduate Diploma.
