Schools and VCE
The program assists schools to help prepare VCE students for entry into university in many ways; ranging from University-wide programs to the locally organised Classics Schools Program.
- The University of Melbourne Extension Program
The Classics and Archaeology program participates in the The University of Melbourne Extension Program which gives high achieving year 12 students the opportunity to study latin. - Classics Schools Program
In collaboration with the Classics Association of Victoria (CAV), three annual events, 2 for students and one for teachers, are hosted. Latin Night and VCE Classical Societies Revision Day are usually held in August or September and help students prepare for the Latin and Classics components of the Victorian College Entrance Exam. The third event, Teachers In-Service Day, usually held in February or March, is for secondary teachers of Latin and Classics and features presentations and lectures on preparing students for their entrance exams, pedagogy, and new educational tools and resources.
If your school would like to participate in Latin Night or VCE Classical Societies Revision Day or if you are a teacher and would like to register for Teacher's In-Service Day, contact Classics and Archaeology.
